ITAC – Empowering Care Technology, emphasises the importance of information technology in establishing a sustainable, quality focused aged care environment. It brings together local and international experts across the fields of community care, residential care services, retirement living, medication management, assistive technologies and offsite information systems delivery.
The awards are focused on highlighting innovative IT solutions that embrace and demonstrate a focus on Consumer Directed Care. Mable has been nominated in the category: ‘Best workforce efficiency or quality improvement solution’. Our nomination in this category demonstrates how the Mable model is designed to put consumers – and care workers – choice and control at the centre of its operations.
Consumers are experts in their own life and in the best position to judge who is right to provide services to them. That doesn’t mean they don’t require support to do so – but the level of support will differ depending on a range of factors; the complexity of need, the level of family support, and their capacity and desire to self-manage their own level of care. Recognising these differences is Consumer Directed Care in action.
Mable responds by providing access for those who are able to manage their own level of care, to a marketplace where they can exercise genuine choice and control around who comes into their home, and what services they provide. Not only does it enable choice, it creates real flexibility and affordability for consumers accessing care services.
